Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence (EI) refers to the capacity to deal effectively with one's own and others' emotions. It is about perceiving, expressing, understanding and managing emotions in a professional and effective manner. To support the use of the Genos EI (self-report, 360 and recruit) tool, OPRA provide practitioners with two levels of training:

EI Accreditation and Coaching (2 days)

Learning includes:

  • In-depth understanding of Genos EI dimensions and application in the workplace

  • Report interpretation and feedback training

  • Development of individual and group developmental programmes

  • Knowledge of coaching and development framework

  • Development of coaching skills; applying cognitive/behavioural restructuring

  • Aligning corporate strategy to EI

EI Recruit Training (1 day)

Learning includes:

  • The application of EI in workplace recruitment

  • Report interpretation and feedback
  • Exploring proven recruitment methodologies for assessing required versus actual levels of EI

On completion, participants will be competent with the emotional intelligence construct and the application of EI as well as interpretation and coaching of the Genos tools in the workplace. Participants have the option of completing one or both of these components.
