Programme Evaluation

Programme evaluation is a formalised process of studying the goals, processes, and the impact of a programme, training activity, or project. Programme evaluations are designed to evaluate one of the following five questions:

How should the programme be delivered to produce desired results (formative evaluation)?
Is the programme being delivered as intended (process evaluation)?
Is the programme delivering the desired outcomes (outcome evaluation)?
What is the overall or net effect (intended or unintended) of the programme (impact evaluation)?
What is the overall cost effectiveness and value of the programme (cost-benefit analysis)?
