Job Analysis
A thorough job analysis is the first step in understanding role requirements and competencies that will create a foundation for all future selection and HR interventions. OPRA support job analysis activity with the Common Metric Questionnaire (CMQ) - one of the only legally defensible job analysis tools available in the market.
In OPRA's experience, the following components underpin a quality job analysis.
- Background / Literature Review
- To gain a clear understanding of the organisations vision, strategy, values, and success factors.
- Utilisation of Multiple Data Collection Methods
- CMQ survey
- Interviews and /or focus groups
- Critical incident meeting
- Repertory grid analysis
- Validation
- Assessment of the utility of the job profile following the integration of data from multiple collection methods.
Job analysis supports the creation of job descriptions, performance benchmarks, and the generation of remuneration data in a user-friendly and cost-effective way. Completion of the CMQ is estimated to take approximately 40 minutes, and is capable of collecting 2,949 unique pieces of job information!
