Courtney enjoys supporting South Island organisations and prides herself on finding solutions that add value to their business. With a passion for Industrial and Organisational psychology, and experience working in a range of organisations, Courtney is focused on discovering what makes individual businesses tick and improving their HR and strategic processes.
Graduating with a Masters Degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Canterbury, Courtney joined the OPRA team in June 2009. Before her time at OPRA, Courtney worked in a wide range of sectors and organisations. She dabbled in teaching, sales, nannying and hospitality, gaining an appreciation of the triumphs and challenges of these industries. Courtney also worked in a range of HR related roles in public and private organisations. These roles enabled her to gain a greater understanding of the practical considerations required of HR teams, and developed her experience in the areas of assessment and development centres, structured interviewing, competency framework development, validation studies and talent management / succession planning.
Courtney’s personal interests largely involve taking advantage of the outdoor activities on offer around Canterbury and the South Island. She enjoys running, mountain biking, walking the port hills and competing in duathalons and short distance running competitions. When she has had enough of spending time outdoors, Courtney enjoys reading, cooking and entertaining friends and painting, a long standing passion. Courtney and her partner James have recently bought a Black Labrador Puppy, Charlie, and most of her weekends are now occupied with teaching Charlie to stop chewing socks and shoes and accompanying him on his adventures to the beach!
