Healthy Thinking
OPRA is excited to present this new course on Healthy Thinking.
Developed by Dr Tom Mulholland and the Healthy Thinking Institute, our independent evaluation showed the benefits of this training to be dramatic and long lasting - so much so that we decided to distribute the course!
So what is Healthy Thinking?
A set of tools to manage thoughts, attitudes, emotions and behaviours.
A new language of internal and external dialogue.
A system to diagnose and treat the ten Unhealthy Attitude Profiles.
A Healthy Thinking culture that can be adopted by individuals and organizations.
The Healthy Thinking brand to promote efficiency through healthy relationships.
Why use Healthy Thinking?
Unhealthy emotions and behaviours are a direct result of unhealthy thinking. As Dr Mulholland describes, this can be due to a combination of software (mind) and hardware problems (brain).
Healthy Thinking is like anti-virus software for the mind. Research shows that on average people spend 40% of their lives being frustrated, 33% being stressed and 20% being angry. The costs on health, relationships and productivity are profound. We see people enter the "Spiral of Disengagement" through habitual use of the Ten Unhealthy Attitude Profiles.
What are the benefits of Healthy Thinking?
OPRA was approached by the Healthy Thinking Institute
in 2007 to evaluate independently the possible benefits of the corporate Healthy Thinking program. The results were impressive! 75% of workers thought that Healthy Thinking had created long term positive behavioural change at work a year after the course was run. Of these people, 100% thought the change would be permanent! OPRA also found that 92% of people had found Healthy Thinking very effective or effective as a tool to improve their relationships at home, while no one had found it NOT effective!
Research shows that healthy attitudes can improve Key Performance Indicators such as:
Staff Engagement.
Customer and employee satisfaction.
Recruitment and Retention.
Profit.
Health metrics e.g. lost time illness and injury, blood pressure and immune response.
