Alison is passionate about the success and effectiveness of people in the workplace. She is an advocate of the need for businesses to look after, invest in and grow their people in order to achieve long lasting results and retain talent. Alison has many years experience working with private and public sector organisations, both in NZ and the UK, and is an experienced team facilitator and executive coach.
Qualified with a BA Hons degree in Psychology & Linguistics from the UK, Alison has since worked in the space of leadership, team and organisational development for 18 years. She has recently joined the Christchurch team as South Island Manager in a job share capacity with Teresa Callow. Along with her wealth of experience she is also accredited in psychometric test administration and interpretation, with the British Psychological Society (BPS), and is qualified in the JTI, FIRO B Human Element, Emotional Intelligence and Blanchard's Situational Leadership model. Alison is also an associate of the coaching team at AUT Centre for Innovative Leadership in Auckland.
Alison has significant experience working with international organisations, most recently in in-house roles with Virgin Media and WH Smith in the UK. Holding these internal Learning and Development and Leadership Development roles she gained expertise in helping people through the change of merger/restructure, and designed and developed leading-edge leadership programmes for senior exec through to first line management audiences.Alison prefers to combine a very practical and business focussed approach with Occupational Psychology and current Learning and Development thinking to address organisational challenges and implement effective solutions. Her passion is to help individuals and teams on their journey to become their authentic selves through learning and development interventions.
Alison moved to Christchurch in 2007 soon after she met and fell in love with her kiwi husband. She has taken on two stepchildren and chosen to create her home on a life-sentence, sorry life-style, block where she has a love of the mountainous view, the hares and her pet donkeys. Alison is passionate about Pilates and constantly tries to keep her core strong whether she be at a class or simply digging the garden. She also loves cooking, books and movies and is learning to overcome her school-day fear of running.
