With recent New Zealand legislation, organisations are now required to take a more proactive approach to helping employees manage sources of work or personal pressure. The Pressure Management Indicator (PMI) provides a mechanism for understanding individual differences in pressure or stress and the consequences of pressure at an individual, team, and organisational level.
The PMI is a self-report measure designed to provide a comprehensive, compact measure of occupational stress, wellbeing and coping mechanisms for occupational stress. Collectively, the PMI scales can identify which staff may be most at risk from stress, and the sorts of actions required to minimise pressure on a daily basis. The PMI is a reliable psychometric tool that can be used to assess stress and coping style across a wide range of occupations and job levels and can be administered in both supervised and unsupervised settings.
