International relocation and off-shore placement can pose a significant upheaval for an employee and their family. Expatriate assignment success or failure depends highly on an employee's readiness for an international posting and their partner and families ability to live and work in a new environment. Developed exclusively by OPRA and based on substantial research, the Overseas Preparation Indicator (OPI) accurately assesses readiness for an international placement, in an employee and their family, across a number of key dimensions:
The OPI can identify areas for further discussion/exploration into an employee's readiness to move to a new country and areas where they may require support, such as adapting to a new culture, housing and schooling advice, and their openness to new experiences. The OPI can be completed in supervised PC and unsupervised PC formats and is suitable for use across a range of situations where and employee and their family may relocate internationally.
